Hi, I’m Rachel, the principal designer at Calder Design.

My love of design began in my grandmother’s sewing room and eventually wove its way through a background in fashion and real estate. It was the trusting relationships I built helping clients stage their properties that naturally led me to where I was always meant to be: interior design.

Today, my approach is rooted in creating deeply personal, lived-in spaces. I am especially drawn to historic homes, antiques, warm materials, and textures. My goal is to design homes with depth and character - spaces that honour the past, support modern life, and feel as though they have naturally evolved over time.

When I’m not designing for clients, you can usually find me hunting for the perfect thrifted piece, or applying that same design philosophy to my 1910 farmhouse I share with my fiancé, Spencer, and our dog, Bailey.
